Big-hearted Amrican-Tongan pro golfer Tony Finau has donated $100,000 to ‘Project Protect’, an initiative to provide $5 million face masks to frontline healthcare workers in the United States. The country is the worst affected by CoViD-19, with over 42,000 Americans having already died from the disease.
The donation was made through Finau’s official charity – The Tony Finau Foundation.
In a video posted on Facebook yesterday, the golfer asked the public to support the initiative and called for any interested volunteers to join ‘Project Protect’ in making masks.
“We’re trying to get volunteers to help us handstich over five million masks over the next couple of months to help those on the frontlines, medical care givers and healthcare givers that are truly fighting this pandemic and saving lives.”
“If you're inclined to help or know of anyone that has basic level of sewing, please go to justserve.org or projectprotect.health”, he said.
