A heartfelt Happy New Year to Matangi Tonga and it's staff for a Job well done, in it's continuing coverage of news and stories from our unforgettable Island Homeland, Tonga.

There are no words to described and express the sadness and feelings of the unfortunate incident on 16th/11, reading so many emotional point of views from so many very passionate LTE and understandably seeing from both sides of this debate. In my humble view, pointing fingers and heavy accusation would only create bad feelings on both sides, there are so many issues that have been debated on the press, but unfortunately it will take times to heal, of what had happened on 16th/11.

I would like to ask this Govt to extend it's professional leadership and invite the People's Representatives with some Prominent Religious Leaders to form a Tonga National Reconciliation Committee, and utilize the "TalaTalanoa" system, spreading out the peace mats and work out a plan for a National Reconciliation. In my humble view, all parties knows that there has to be some changes in Tonga's existing form of Govt. I want to share a quote from Prime Minister Helen Clark's: quote: "We've known for a long time that a feudal monarchy isn't sustainable in the 21st century. We are keen to support Tonga working that through. Tonga has been a feudal monarchy and there's no place for that in the 21st century" un quote.

I pray that through "Tala Talanoa" between the people and it's Govt., could bring meaningful changes for the future of our children and families.
