Brides and grooms filled the Registry Office yesterday, 19 December, in Nuku’alofa, to tie the knot before government closes for the Christmas holidays.

Families and friends of many newly wedded couples also gathered to take photos after marriage licenses were issued.

The Registry Office reported that 20 couples got married yesterday which was also their busiest day for marriage licenses for the month.

A total of 94 nuptials were recorded to date for December, which is the most popular month for weddings in Tonga especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
