More than 300 graduates from two Government Tertiary Institutes received their certificates and diplomas on December 11, during a Combined Awards Ceremony.

HRH Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho made the presentations and congratulated graduates on their academic achievements, at Falemasiva Hall.

Education is the the passport to the future. “Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today,” she said.

The Tonga Institute of Education (TIOE) awarded Diplomas in Education to teachers in primary and secondary levels.

The Tonga Institute of Higher Education (TIHE) graduates were awarded certificates and diplomas in information system, computer science, accounting, media and journalism, agricultural science, business, tourism management, hospitality management, and others. 

This is one of the final awards ceremonies for Tonga in 2019, which saw proud families presenting beautiful garlands and lolly necklaces to the achievers.
