Tongan heavyweight champion fighters Uaine Fa Jnr and Hemi Ahio, are scheduled to fight American fighters next Friday 15 November in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they hope to achieve what is billed as the “Toko Takeover”.
Fa is scheduled to fight Devin Vargas (37) of Ohio, a former US national Golden Gloves heavyweight champion who holds a professional record of 21 wins and 5 losses. The main event will be the 19th fight of Junior Fa’s professional career as he seeks to extend his undefeated record in the heavyweight division.
Vargas is an experienced opponent and all of his losses have occurred at the hands of prominent fighters including the current WBA heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz.
Hemi “the Heat” Ahio (15 W – 0 L) will fight against American fighter Joshua Tufte (19 W – 3 L). Ahio’s profile has grown in the last two years after achieving an array of impressive wins including a first round knockout of an undefeated German fighter Ali Kiydin in Saudi Arabia in July this year.
The venue for the event is Salt Palace.
