HMAF Women to compete in Rugby Sevens tournament [1]

His Majesty’s Armed Forces (HMAF) Women’s Sevens rugby team will compete in the Pacific Military (PACMIL) Tournament held in Canberra, Australia between 22 – 28 October 2019.
The 16-member squad leaves Tonga on October 22. Tonga will compete against seven other countries, including Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and New Zealand. The Cook Islands and Samoa will field teams from their Police Force for the competition.
Coach Tau ‘Aholelei told Matangi Tonga this is the second year the tournament has been held and the team was ready for the competition.
“We prepared well this year and we will see how we go on the field. Last year we did ok and reached second place in the plate division,” he said.
The Australian Defence Force is sponsoring Tonga to take part in the PACMIL.
