Shame on looters and pro-democracy [1]

Editor,
Please allow me to voice my concern in this medium:
Where were our 'mighty' soldiers?
How is it that the Government and its National Security Agencies allow the situation to get to a point where our capital continues to be engulfed with flames?
What about racial hatred and plain-old stupidity?
Where is the morality within our Christian beliefs?
Images of children, youths and parents involved in rioting stores are unimaginable, or just being stupid. While the Police may not be able to do anything - thanks at least for standing by and taking pictures and notes of the rioters - I believe we had a situation in our hands where our military force should have been employed.
Our Government may have been out of their senses or perhaps communication may have been seriously undermined. I find the continuous looting a shame, not just to our own people, our country, and our culture, but also a shame to the pro-democracy movement. This is "your" future, or at least a glimpse to our country's "democratic" future if we are not careful in the road or reform-process we are choosing.
For now, this event is unimaginable to go this far, and we can only read and listen to news overseas with immense disappointment for leaders who were involved, especially in inciting the riot in the first place, and also at all political parties involved for failing to put an end or at least prevent such acts from happening.
I hope the rural and outer islands' people have more common sense and morality than those thugs in town, young and old, who think nothing of tomorrow and certainly not about their relationship with everyone else.
May God Bless our unique and once proud Kingdom.
Tu'a 'ofa atu,
Molisi Manu'atu
