Nuku'alofa, Tonga

Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 17:26

Local business operators will gain an insight into how to win contracts funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank (WB), at an upcoming seminar in Nuku'alofa on 29 August.

The seminar is organised by the Ministry of Finance, WB and the ADB for the first time.

It aims to build a closer working relationship with the private sector and provide them with the necessary information to prepare bids to win Government contracts.

Six new ADB funded projects are expected to be approved this year, in addition to five WB funded approved projects. The projects are spread across a variety of sectors including infrastructure, energy and health.

Around 80% of the projects' activities include the procurement of goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services.

The participants invited to attend the seminar at the National Rerve Bank Building, include local businesses who can provide the relevant services and capacity to deliver and implement the project activities.
