King Tupou VI opened the Ha'apai Royal Agriculture, Fisheries, Tourism and Trade Show 2019 at Lea’aetohi grounds in Pangai, on July 16.
An abundance of the island group’s seafood, food crops, and fine woven handicrafts were displayed.
The show is a popular annual event which encourages and promotes the development of the agriculture and fisheries sector, working together with farmers and fishermen for food sustainability, livestock farming, handicrafts and local food production and businesses.
The King accompanied by Queen Nanasipau‘u travelled to Ha'apai this week, after Tongatapu held the first show of the year on June 22.
The shows continue to Vava’u on July 19, Niuafo’ou on July 24, and Niuatoputapu on July 26, before concluding in ‘Eua on August 2.
