The top five contestants were announced for the Miss Heilala Pre-Pageant Interview held on July 1, the first judging event held at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre.

In no particular order, they are:

  • Miss Makahokovalu, Seletute Kinikini;
  • Miss Tonga Australia 2019, Anna Ma’ilei;
  • Miss Apraxus NZ 2019, Jeanavieve Pome’e;
  • Miss Apraxus/Ngutulei Bar and Restaurant, Kieoma Lavulo; and
  • Miss Salone Accounting Services, Manutu‘ufanga Lavemai.

Twenty-five contestants are vying for the Miss Heilala crown, with other judging events this week before the crowning on July 5.

This is reportedly the most number of contestants to compete in the annual pageant, as this year is special since it is King Tupou VI’s 60th birthday.
