Three arrested in illicit drug busts [1]

Two men and one woman were arrested from two different locations in Tongatapu allegedly with methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash in the ongoing drugs operation by Tonga Police.
On Monday morning, June 17 the Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce stopped a vehicle on a road at the the eastern district and arrested a 34-year-old man from Hauloto with one pack of methamphetamine (0.25 grams) and drugs paraphernalia.
Later at around 1:40pm the Taskforce arrested a 61-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman from a residence in Longolongo.
Police seized one pack of alleged methamphetamine (0.06 grams), cash, drugs paraphernalia and electronic devices.
The three suspects are in police custody to appear at the Magistrate Court on a later date.
Deputy Police Commissioner Pelenatita Fe`ao Vaisuai said today, these arrests should reassure the community that preventing and disrupting methamphetamine and other illicit drugs supply is a high priority for Police.
“We will continue to target those who supply drugs within our communit and hold them to account for their crimes.”
