A couple was arrested with seven packs of methamphetamine at a motel in Kolofo’ou on Monday, April 15.

The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce arrested the 37-year-old husband and his 32-year-old wife, in possession of seven packs of methamphetamine weighing 2.12 grams and cash.

Deputy Commissioner Pelenatita Fe’ao Vaisuai said today the couple from Ma'ufanga is remanded in police custody to appear at the Magistrate's Court on a later date.

She thanked members of the community who continue to assist Police through timely sharing of information.

“I actively encourage people to contact Police to let us know about those involved in the supply of drugs, this will contribute to keeping our communities safe.”

Drug busts continues in Tongatapu as last week saw numerous arrests of people found in possession of methamphatamine and cannabis.
