‘Ikale Tahi number eight, Sione Vailanu, will be moving from Saracens after signing with Wasps for next season in the UK.
The 24-year-old try scorer for Tonga in their clash against Wales last November, is seen as a great potential for the new team.
Wasps Director of Rugby, Dai Young, told the BBC that Sione is strong and still young and has international experience.
“We can’t wait to help him realise his potential in a very competitive back row.”
According to Saracens, Sione decided to move on because he did not get enough regular game time due to the high-level performance of experienced back rowers and some of the emerging club’s academy players.
To date he has only featured nine times for Saracens since he signed with them in January 2018.
Prior to playing in the UK, Sione played in the Japanese Sevens circuit.
He made his debut for Tonga last November against Japan, and was part of the Tongan team that toured the Northern Hemisphere.
