The Tonga 7s team heading into the Sydney Sevens tournament has been announced and will be led by new Captain, Atieli Pakalani, this weekend, 2-3 February at Spotless Stadium, Olympic Park.

The HSBC Sydney Sevens is the fourth tournament of the men’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, however, this is only Tonga’s second in this series.

At the Hamilton Sevens last weekend, Tonga finished in 13^th place after beating France and Japan.

Fiji and USA currently share top spot in the series standings [2] with Fiji winning the previous two tournaments and USA runner up in the previous three.

This weekend, Tonga has drawn a difficult pool B with Australia, South Africa and Argentina.

Tonga’s first game tomorrow, 2 February, is against South Africa at 12:50pm (Tongan time), followed by Australia at 5.56pm (Tongan time) and ending the day against Argentina at 10:01pm (Tongan time).
