3.2kgs of cannabis seized in ‘Eua [1]

A 44-year-old man who was arrested after Police seized 3.2kgs of cannabis at Nafanua Wharf, ‘Eua on 13 December, remains in custody, the commander of the ‘Eua police station, Inspector Loluhama Fine confirmed this afternoon.
The accused was arrested with the cannabis at 3:50pm at Nafanua Wharf on Thursday, 13 December and it was suspected that he intended to take the cannabis to Tongatapu on ferry that was scheduled to depart 'Eua for Tongatapu at 4:30pm.
“We continue to focus on capturing and prosecuting those responsible for the supply of these destructive drugs that cause harm to our youths, families and our community,” said Inspector Loluhama Fine.
Inspector Loluhama Fine also confirmed that the cannabis that was seized weighed 3.2kgs and not 2kgs as first reported.
He encouraged anyone who may have information about drug related offends to contact the nearest Police station, or ring 23417 or 922.
