Sunia Tuiaki (25) is the driver who died on Saturday night, December 8 during a head on collision with another vehicle on Taufa’ahau Road in Ha’ateiho.

Tonga Police today named the deceased from Fasi, who died on impact at the crash site.

“As earlier reported, driving a government vehicle, he was involved in two crashes at Nualei and Veitongo before this fatal collision. When he got to Ha'ateiho, he allegedly overtook another vehicle in front colliding head on with the other vehicle heading from Nuku'alofa. The driver in this vehicle, was a mother from ‘Utulau who was with her two young children, Police said.

The mother is reportedly still in critical condition at Vaiola Hospital. Her children sustained minor injuries, said the police spokesperson.
