Two men have been charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of a 19-year-old male teen on November 26 at Vaiola Hospital.

The victim from Kolomotu’a had sustained serious head injuries after being found on the side of the main road in Ha'atafu earlier on Sunday, November 24.

Chief Inspector Sofilisi Fifita of the Nukunuku Police Station said it is alleged that the two accused (19 and 21-years old) and the victim were drinking alcohol together when they got into a fight.

The suspects are alleged to have assaulted the victim.

He said the father of one of the accused when told of what happened voluntarily took both to the Nukunuku Police Station on Sunday night, turning themselves in.

Both remain in custody to appear at the Nukunuku Magistrate's Court on November 29.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim while his body remains at the mortuary.
