Four men have been charged with possession of methamphetamine this month, in four separate arrests on Tongatapu.

Talamahu Market

The latest was a 54-year-old man from Ma’ufanga, who was arrested on October 11 at Talamahu Market in Nuku’alofa.

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said police seized .35 grams of methamphetamine on the accused at the market.

The seizure resulted from information police received. The man has been charged with possession of the illicit drug pending court.

Vehicle

A 34-year-old man was arrested inside a vehicle after he was found to be in possession of 14 packs of methamphetamine and seven packets of cannabis on October 10.

Acting Chief Supt. Vailea said today the accused was arrested with 5.15 grams of methamphetamine and 3.59 grams of cannabis when police confiscated the illicit drug.

The man was inside a vehicle parked at an area in Kolofo’ou when police made the seizure.

The accused who was living in Hofoa has been charged with possession of the illicit drugs. 

Kolofo‘ou

On October 6, at Kolofo’ou a 34-year-old man was arrested with five packets of methamphetamine weighing .77 grams.

The accused living at Hofoa has been charged pending court.

Vaini

On October  5 a 43-year-old man was arrested and charged after being found in possession of 1.32 grams of methamphetamine in Vaini.

Acting Chief Supt  Vailea said police carried out a search warrant at a home in Vaini and found 1.32 grams of methamphetamine as well as 4.15 grams of cannabis.

The accused was arrested and charged with possession of the illicit drugs.
