‘Ioane Moala (46) is the man who died from serious injuries after being assaulted allegedly during a drunken brawl in Neiafu on Saturday night, September 1. 

Police in Nuku'alofa today confirmed the name of the victim from Neiafu.

In the meantime, the 43-year-old accused who is charged with manslaughter by negligence remained in custody pending court on September 10.

It is alleged there was a dispute between people who had been drinking alcohol and the accused had punched the victim.

The offence took place at Vete in Neiafu.
