Kaina Handerson Tauvaka (28)- Miss Vaheloto, was crowned the Miss Galaxy Queen 2018 on Friday night, July 14 at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.

Hon. Frederica Tuita Filipe crowned the winner during a final night of judging events that included galaxy wear, own talent and evening gowns, to the delight of a cheering full house.

Kaina's prizes includes a return ticket for two to Honolulu and $1,000 cash prize.

The runners up were:

• 1^st runner up Miss Asuka and Mia’s Florist Marina, Coco Butter,
• 2^nd runner up Miss Cruella Florist, Lady Isabella Gugu,
• 3^rd runner up Miss Cruella Fashion, Camilla Ria Hansen,
• 4^th runner up Miss Lovey’s Tour and Apartment, Giovanaa Mafi.

The Miss Galaxy Queen is an annual event organized by the Tonga Leiti’s Association (TLA). It provides a great show for audiences, with fantastic creations in various forms of galaxy wear, red creations and "condom creation".

This year's theme was 'Minority Groups are a priority when it comes to Climate Change', and the 12 contestants dealt with the issue during its pre-pageant interview and theme talent categories.
