Soccer showdown with Samoa [1]

The Tonga Under-19’s soccer team have a chance to qualify for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) U-19 Championships in Tahiti this year if they defeat Samoa this Saturday in the Cook Islands.
The showdown with Samoa is the final round of a qualifying tournament of which both Tonga and Samoa remain undefeated. The tournament features Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa and the Cook Islands.
Tonga defeated the Cook Islands 3 – 0 in their opening game and yesterday defeated American Samoa 2 – 0.
In a similar fashion, Samoa defeated American Samoa 3 – 0 and the Cook Islands 1 – 0.
Tonga’s two goals against American Samoa were both scored by Atunaisa Namoa in the 7th and 50th minute.
The winner of the tournament will advance to the proper OFC U-19 Championship 2018 later this year in Tahiti. The winner of that Championship will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Under-20’s Football World Cup in Poland.
