Children were beautifully dressed to celebrate Fakame or Children’s Sunday at Free Wesleyan Churches throughout Tonga on 6 May.
Fakame is an annual event where children put on their Sunday best to perform rituals, recite bible verses and hymns, in front of their proud parents and families in church.
The month of May celebrates family with the Fakame held on the first Sunday of May, Mother’s Day held this Sunday, 13th May, and Father’s Day on Sunday, 20th May.
The photographs were taken at the Wesleyan Centennial Church in Kolomotu’a by Senior Journalist at Pacific Media Network, Lisa Williams-Lahari, who is visiting Tonga to attend a Pacific Islands News Association conference.
