Bright dawn for 2018 ANZAC Day service at Pangai Lahi [1]

King Tupou VI laid a wreath at the Cenotaph, Pangai Lahi, in Nuku'alofa, this morning, for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service.
The sun rose brightly on a beautiful day for the public holiday in Tonga.
This year’s ANZAC DayThe battle at Gallipoli is remembered because it claimed more than 11,000 lives of Australian and New Zealand soldiers.
We were also reminded that 460 Pacific Islander soldiers were serving in the New Zealand and Australian armies during the First World War between 1914 and 1918.
The Dawn Service at 6:00 am was attended by King Tupou VI, Prime Minister, Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva, officers from His Majesty’s Armed Forces, officers from the Australian and New Zealand armed forces, foreign diplomats, members of parliament and members of the Public.
This morning program, included a church service, and the laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph, led by the King.
