The sea search at for Tevita ‘Ekuasi (21) who remains missing after he alleged jumped at the Houma Blow Holes on Sunday, April 8 is suspended.
Acting Deputy Commissioner ‘Atunaisa Taumoepeau said today the search at sea was suspended since last week due to rough seas during Tropical Cyclone Keni.
However, the search on land continued along the coastlines in this area. But there were no sightings to date, he said.
The search at sea will remain suspended unless police receive new credible information on any sighting.
The Tonga Police search and rescue boat had searched the area on Sunday before it was called off.
Tevita from Kala'au and another man Sione Toki (32) from Vaotu’u were said to have been drinking at the beach, before jumping into the sea. Sione drifted and was found alive on the coastline between Vaotu’u and Houma.
