A 24-year-old man died on Sunday, March 4 after he was allegedly stabbed during a drunken brawl at Fangaloto.

Police today confirmed that a 21-year-old man has been arrested in relation to this death, and he is in custody at the Nuku'alofa Central Police Station.

According to the Police, the deceased and accused were drinking alcohol with other people at around 3:30pm yesterday, when the deceased had an argument with his girlfriend.

The girlfriend, a close relative of the accused left the drinking party. The accused is said to have not been happy with how the deceased handled the argument with his girlfriend, and they got into a fight.

The deceased was stabbed and was rushed to Vaiola Hospital where he died later yesterday.

Police are still carrying out their investigation and has at this stage not charged the accused.
