Prize-giving day for Tonga High School and 'Apifo'ou College [1]

At Tonga High School's prize-giving ceremony today, Maletino Mafi Jr (17) was awarded Dux. A Form 7 student, Maletino topped accounting and was awarded NZD$1,000 among other prizes.

The Proxime Accessit was awarded to Siosiua Paongo (18), a cousin of the Dux.

The Best All Round student at Tonga High School was awarded to Ana Jane Vea.

The special prizes from King Tupou VI of $2,000 pa'anga each, were awarded to Vakaola Maka for Best Science student and Milika Fifita for Best Foreign Language student.

'Apifo'ou College

'Apifo'ou College also held its annual prize giving today with Malia Susana Tonga (16) awarded Dux.

A Form Six student at the Catholic College, Malia topped five subjects, physics, chemistry, biology, maths and religion. She aims to become a doctor in the future.
