Tongan registered voters who are residing abroad must in Tonga to vote in the November 16 General Election.

Pita Vuki, Supervisor for Elections said today there are no polling stations for Tongans in overseas countries.

He said there has been no change in relation to the requirements for voters.

When asked whether there would be any change, for example, to get polling stations abroad to allow for registered Tongans to cast their votes, he said it is too late for the election in November. "But we can look at it for the next General Election," he said.

More than 57,000 people have registered to vote on November 16. The General Election was called after King Tupou VI suddenly dissolved parliament in August this year.
