Langafonua ‘a e Masiva Party was launched on Friday, September 29 with six candidates, who are running for the November 16 General Election. 

The candidates include ‘Isileli Pulu (Tongatapu 4), Sifa Tu’utafaiva (Tongatapu 6), Sunia Fili (‘Eua 11), ‘Aisake Eke (Tongatapu 5), Sangster Saulala (Tognatapu 7) and Sione Fonua (Tongatapu 2).

The party's chairlady is ‘Emeli Pouvalu with deputy chair Saia Moehau, who are not candidates but are supporting the party.

They aim to have an Act in place for local government, and talk about increasing the daily wages of people in low wage work and labourers, helping to market the agriculture, fisheries, tourism and handicraft sectors, and setting up new industries to employ youths.

Meanwhile, the nomination of candidates concluded on September 28, with 86 in total. Candidates have started their campaign throughout the country.
