Liahona High School celebrated its 70th birthday on 7 September with activities that emphasized healthy living.
Students and ex-students of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints school took part in the celebration, which started with a float parade at campus, light lunch, traditional performances by students and ended with a sport event, American football games between four local teams.
The activities were held to encourage healthy eating and healthy living, said a spokesperson from the church.
Elder 'Aisake Tukuafu was keynote speaker. The event was attended by Malcom Sheward, Assistant Area Seminary and Institute Director.
In 1925 classes began at the Latter-day Saints Makeke School, an elementary school that provided a permanent facility for religious and secular training for the rising generation of future Church leaders.
