Dame Valerie Adams-Price is looking forward to becoming a mum in October. Valerie (32) revealed her pregnancy on twitter, stating “we have a shot ready for when you arrive in October little one. Love from your Mum and Dad to be”.

Valerie who married her husband Gabriel Price in April 2016 had a big year: she won a Silver Medal in Shotput at the 2016 Rio Olympics and was recently made a Dame, the youngest in New Zealand history.

Valerie told the NZ Herald, “I've always wanted to be a mum. This is bigger for me than any gold medal”.

Valerie visited Tonga in October last year as a New Zealand Sports Ambassador, promoting sport and encouraging Tongans to live healthy lifestyles.
