‘Ikale Tahi center Siale Piutau will play for Bristol Rugby on a permanent basis after re-signing with the club last week. The UK based club announced the new deal on Monday, March 27.

Piutau – who captained Tonga in their successful European tour last year – only started for Bristol this year, having played for the London Waps last year.

Piutau expressed his delight on the Bristol Rugby website. He stated “In the short time I have been in Bristol, I have been amazed by the passion for rugby in the city. It’s a great place for me and my family to be.”

The club’s head coach Mark Tainton praised Piutau fo his perfromance. Tainton stated “Siale has been a formidable presence for us in the midfield, he’s shown real leadership and maturity in our backline.”
