Chinese members of Congress visiting Tonga [1]

A 15-members delegation from the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China is currently on a three-days visit to Tonga.
The Chief of Policy Division of the Chinese Embassy in Nuku’alofa, Wang Xuejun said that the purpose of the visit is to “further promote the exchanges and cooperation between our two countries.”
The delegation arrived in Tonga yesterday, 17 January. Today, they met the Prime Minister, Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva, five members of his Cabinet and the CEO for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Va’inga Tone.
Tomorrow, 19 January, the Chinese delegation will meet the Speaker of the Tongan Parliament, Lord Tu’ivakano and members of the Tongan Legislative Assembly in Parliament House at 9.30 am.
The official meetings of the Chinese delegation are closed meetings.
