Seven Georgian nationals who entered Tonga on stolen Greek passports in September voluntarily left the country on Friday morning, November 4 on a Fiji Airways flight.
Tonga Police confirmed this afternoon the six adults and a 10-year-old boy left on the Fiji Airways flight to Nadi enroute to Singapore, Doha, Istanbul and Georgia.
Koba Shinjkashvili, Zaza Tsikarishvili, Nino Menabdishvili, Genadi Gacechechildaze, Mai Garibashvili and Dato Dekanoidze who pleaded guilty, had each received two-years suspended sentence from Hon Mr Justice Cato on October 26, at the Supreme Court in Nuku'alofa.
They had submitted they would leave Tonga as soon as they had their return flights organised, which they paid for.
The judge ordered they also had to pay fines of $1,000 pa’anga each to the Supreme Court, which they have and they must leave Tonga within two-weeks from the sentencing date, meaning to leave by November 9.
The boy who is believed to be with his parents in the group had the charge against him struck off at the Magistrate’s Court in Fasi, when they first appeared on October 10.
