Helu wins second professional fight [1]

Heavyweight boxer Nailini Helu, a Tongan born New Zealander, won her second professional fight against Sarah Long by unanimous decision in New Zealand last Saturday and is now the leading contender for the New Zealand title.

The 22-year-old is ranked 10th in the world by independent boxing records keeping and a computerized ranking system, BoxRec, and also ranked 10th in the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF).

Nailini won her first debut professional fight in April this year defeating New Zealand resident, Kirsty Lupeamanu, for the inaugural Royal Rampage World Female Heavyweight title.

She has an impressive amateur career winning three New Zealand National Championships in 2012, 2014 and 2015, and reaching the semifinals in 2013.

Nailini is the older sister of professional boxer Panuve Helu, who recently defeated Jonathan Taylor. Panuve is scheduled to fight Fili Mailata in August in a rematch after a controversial draw and against an opponent that is still to be announced in September.

Both Nailini and Panuve were born in Tonga and reside in Auckland, New Zealand. They are Tonga's biggest boxing prospects, showing great potential.

Nailini Helu hopes to fight for a world title within the next two years.
