100m hurdles prelims, Inter-Collegiate Athletics Competition, Teufaiva Stadium, 26 April 2016.

Hundreds of students from secondary and middle schools from around Tonga gathered at Teufaiva Outdoor Stadium yesterday, 26 April at the start of the four days 92nd Annual Inter-Collegiate Athletics Competition 2016.

The four-day competition began with track events that included the preliminary rounds for the 100m hurdles,110m hurdles, 400m, 200m, 4x400m relay and 1500m run for both girls and boys and field events.

Participating from two of the outer islands, is an all-Ha’apai Secondary Schools team while Vava’u is represented by athletes from Sanele College. 

Spectators filled the stadium cheering on the young athletes in the various track and field events.
