Netina Latu of the Tonga Amateur Sports Association (TASA) said today that the boxing trials would not be held until this Saturday January 28 in Auckland, New Zealand, and after that the names would be released.

She said what is confirmed at this point is that Tonga would be competing in the sports of heavyweight lifting, boxing, athletics including the hurdles, shot put and the discus throwing, as well as the Seven Aside Rugby tournament.

Other details on how many athletes would be representing Tonga as well as the date of departure for the Commonwealth Games has yet to be confirmed.
