Mr Gregory Paul Reynolds

Missing New Zealand visitor Gregory Paul Reynolds (47) was last sighted in Tongatapu on Thursday, 7 April at the Liku'alofa Beach Resort, where he was staying, Tonga Police confirmed yesterday.

It is understood that an earlier report that he was last sighted on Friday walking on the road from the resort has been discounted.

A full land and sea search was completed on the evening of Monday, 11 April, where some 30 police officers and 26 personnel from His Majesty's Armed Forces (HMAF) were involved in extensive searches of the Hihifo area.

Tonga Police on Tuesday, 12 April said he was due to fly out of Tonga to New Zealand on Friday, 8 April but when the resort personnel went to pick him up he was no where to be found.

Enquiries continued yesterday to confirm his movements while in Tonga, and background enquiries are being completed with the assistance of New Zealand Police.

Mr Reynolds is reported to have arrived in Tonga on 1 April, and he was due to fly out on Friday 8 April.

Police investigation continues.
