Disruption to power supply following Cyclone Winston means the University of the South Pacific campuses at Laucala,Fiji, will remain closed until further notice, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard K. Coll said yesterday.

In a notice on the USP Facebook page he said, "We are now informed that we cannot be guaranteed a continuous supply of electricity at a level necessary to run the Laucala Campuses, even with our reduction of power usage.

"As a consequence all Laucala campuses are closed until further notice - at least up to and including Sunday 28 February, 2016.,"

Prof Coll promised that an announcement on the campus status shall be made by mid-day Sunday 28 February, 2016.
