December is the wedding season in Tonga and today Thursday, 17 December was one of the two busiest days for nuptials for the year, when 23 marriages were registered in Nuku’alofa.

The Registry Office in Nuku'alofa reported that Tuesday 15, December and today had the highest number of marriage registrations with 23 each. This week couples have been flocking to the registry before government closes for the holidays starting on 22 December.
