Sione Noa Niua (23) from Hofoa was announced the Dux of Montfort Technical Institute today, 24 November, securing his place in His Majesty’s Armed Force’s next recruitment in 2016.

The automotive mechanic major said that being dux qualifies him and the  first runner up to be recruited by HMAF, after completing a two-year Cadet Training Certificate, included in their curriculum.

He topped his automotive trade subjects including practical training, theory, drawing as well English and maths.

A former Tupou College student, Sione said he is very happy with the result after two-years of hard work.

Cardinal Mafi presented certificates to around 30 graduates from the technical institute, which also provides training in panel beating, electric and carpentry.
