Four people escaped a fire that destroyed the home of Siosifa Fatafehi Fuatakifolaha (formerly Noble Veikune) in Longolongo, Nuku’alofa this afternoon.

An occupant of the two storey home, said that she was one of four people inside the house when the fire broke out at around 3:30pm.

She did not know what caused the fire but when she went upstairs she saw that the fire had already blazed through one of the rooms.

Everyone escaped safely and no one was injured.

Meanwhile, firefighters were fighting to extinguish the blaze during a hot afternoon in Nuku'alofa.
