The Tonga Rugby 7s Mens Team for the Oceania Sevens Tournament and Olympic Qualifier was announced today, Friday 13 November.
The tournament will be held from November 14-15 at Trust Arena in Auckland.
Tonga Rugby Union stated Nafi Tu’itavake a former All Blacks 7s player and Super Rugby player with the Crusaders will represent Tonga after being cleared by the New Zealand Rugby Union and World Cup.
TRU High Performance General Manager Peter Harding, who played a big role in getting Tu’itavake cleared, said Nafi has worked hard to play for Tonga.
He completed all required documentation to help himself get cleared and become eligible because he had already represented the All Blacks 7s.
The winning team will automatically book a place at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
