Four Tongan nationals have been charged with forgery and related charges, following a complaint over a passport application that allegedly involved a forged birth certificate.
Deputy Police Commissioner Viliami ‘Unga Fa’aoa confirmed that a Police Investigation was carried out following a complaint made by the Tonga Immigration earlier in October.
The complaint concerned a passport application from a person suspected to be a non-Tongan subject, allegedly using a forged Tongan birth certificate.
Four people have been charged with forgery, knowingly dealing with forged documents, illegal access and interference with course of justice.
