HM King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u crowned at Centenary Church [1]

His Majesty King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u were crowned by Rev D'arcy Wood at the Centenary Church of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga, Nuku’alofa this morning, 4 July.
Rev. Wood, a minister of the Uniting Church in Australia crowns the King and Queen was assisted by Dr 'Ahio and Dr Tevita Havea - the President and the Secretary General of of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga.
It was a lovely day in Nuku’alofa as guests and dignitaries from many parts of the world arrived in formal dress and wearing decorations at the Centenary Church to witness the Coronation
Guests included the Crown Prince Naruhito and and the Crown Princess Masako of Japan; Sir Anthony Bailey and HSH Princess Marie von Hohenberg and Lord Glen Arthur of the United Kingdom; the Maori King, Te Arikinui Kiingi Tuheitia and Makau Ariki; President of Tahiti, HE Monsieur Edouard Fritch; the Head of State of Samoa, Tu'i Atua Tupua Tamasese Ta'is Efi; the President of the Republic of Fiji, Ratu ‘Epeli Nailatikau and Adi Koila, the President of the Republic of Nauru, President Waga and Lady Waga; the Governor General of New Zealand HE Sir Jerry Mateparae and Lady Janine Mateparae; Governor General of the Solomon Islands, HE Frank Kabui and Lady Kabui; HE Archbishop Martin Josef Krebs from the Vatican; and the Governor General of Papua New Guinea and the Prime Minister of Niue.
