HM King Tupou VI awarded Coronation Medals of Honour at the Royal Palace yesterday, 30 June.

Attending the presentation ceremony at the palace were HM Queen Nanasipau’u, Princess Royal Pilolevu, and Crown Princess Sinaitakala.

Among the recipients of medals were Cardinal Petita Mafi, the Prime Minister, Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Diplomatic Corps, foreigners and members of the Tongan community who have given service to the monarch.

The three categories of medals that were presented were, the Order of Queen Salote, Royal Household Order, Order of the Crown and the Royal Military Order of St George. The full list of recipients and medals has yet to be released.
