Jury trial for Lavulavu in April [1]

A jury trial from April 13-17 in Vava'u will hear an election petition filed against Hon ‘Etuate Lavulavu, the Minister for Infrastructure and Vava’u No.16 People’s Representative to Parliament for alleged illegal practices and bribery.
The Chief Justice Hon Paulsen will travel to the outer island to preside over the jury trial.
The election petition was filed by a former Vava’u People’s Representative Dr Viliami Latu and ‘Aisea Silivenusi in December last year. They alleged Lavulavu had committed bribery and other illegal practices, during his election campaign for the Vava'u No.16 consitutuency.
‘Ofa Pouono who is representing Lavulavu and William Clive Edwards for the petitioners appeared at the mentioning of the case when the date was confirmed this morning, at the Nuku’alofa Supreme Court.
