The first cruise ship to visit Tonga this year, MS Silver Whisper docked at Vuna wharf in Nuku'alofa with over 600 passengers and crew today Friday, January 23.

Passengers who were mainly from United States, followed by Australia, Canada and New Zealand, visited handicraft vendors at the wharf.

Tourism Tonga has listed 16 cruise ships carrying over 30,000 passengers scheduled to arrive this year, with seven to visit Vava’u - an increase from last year.

The MS Silver Whisper from New Zealand arrived from Tahiti and will depart for Noumea later today.
