Tonga defeats American Samoa 2 – 0 [1]

Tonga has avoided winning the wooden spoon after defeating American Samoa 2 – 0 yesterday in its last game of the 2015 Under-17 Oceania Federation Championship (OFC) cup in Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Tonga’s two goals were both scored in the second-half in the form of midfielder Aisea Muli and forward Soakai Vea.   

It is Tonga’s only win of the tournament, a happy ending to a streak of heavy losses which included a 13 – 0 loss to Tahiti, 9– 0 loss to Vanuatu and a 10 – 1 loss to the Solomon Islands.
