Almost 2000 people turned up to watch the Laughing Samoans in a sold-out concert that left the crowd in fits of laughter last night, at the Queen Salote College Hall.
‘Etuate Ete and Tofiga Fepulea’i performed their new show “Fresh off Da Blane” featuring some of their popular characters in support of the Walk on Walk Strong Foundation (WOWS) for child cancer.
Dressed in blonde wigs and muumuu the talented comedians transformed themselves into their hilarious characters Aunty Tala and her niece Fai to the delight of the audience.
A final concert to be held tonight is expected to attract a full house, with proceeds from tickets to be donated to the foundation to help children with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
Tonga is the last stop for the 'Fresh off Da Blane' tour after New Zealand, Australia and a few other Pacific islands.
The late Tae Kami’s mother Sina Kami is grateful to the sponsors for making the WOWS concerts possible in Nuku'alofa.
“Laughter is good for the soul. The Laughing Samoans are among the blessings and answers to our prayers,” she said"
The Laughing Samoans first met Tae Kami in 2008 in their first visit to Tonga. Since her death from cancer in the same year, they have been strong supporters of WOWS in Tonga and Fiji.
Tonga's baby Prince Taufa'ahau Manumataongo was the guest of honour at the concert, sponsored by Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC), Little Italy Hotel and Restaurant and Kingdom Travel.
