After exchanging their uniforms for colourful dance costumes on Friday evening, the Tonga Police Women's Advisory Network last week raised $16,000 pa’anga for their social network.

Police Commissioner Grant O’Fee said the policewomen exceeded their target of raising $10,000 for their network after various fundraising activities.

He said the annual fundraising by the 96 policewomen in the Tonga Police is to support their members during any difficult times like a funeral. The activities concluded with a dance on Friday night, 22 August, at the Police headquarters in Longolongo.

There are around 430 police officers in the Tonga Police.
